Subhendu is a seasoned academician with his passions rooted in institution building activities, specializing in providing people, strategic and operational leadership for building robust processes in institutions. Subhendu’s areas of research interest include subsistence marketplaces with specific reference to small and marginal agri-fresh producers and marketing analytics. He works on collaborative research projects with Indian and foreign academics, NGOs, corporates and social enterprises in India and overseas. Subhendu has published and presented more than 45 papers in leading national and international journals, and national and international conferences. His research articles and case studies have been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Macromarketing, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Academy of Marketing Studies Journal, Journal of International Business Education etc. and were presented in top notch global conferences and seminars. Subhendu also reviews papers from ABDC and SCOPUS indexed journals.

Currently, Subhendu is Professor and Director at Indus Business Academy (IBA), Bangalore, India. Prior to joining IBA, Subhendu has been the Dean of GBS, one of the top business schools in Kolkata, and was the founding Director of RSB Chennai. With 30 years of experience in teaching and research, Subhendu brings in distinct style of teaching learning and on ground business strategies. His work received high appreciations from CRISIL – the pioneering credit rating agency of India. In 2016, The Times of India awarded Subhendu with the EDUICONS Award for his work in building a new business school in Chennai, and in 2023, he received the MTC Global Award for Excellence 2023: Innovation in Teaching Pedagogy Award, awarded in MTC Global’s 13th Annual Global Convention.
